We ate at Ellen’s Stardust Diner on both our visits in 1998 and 2002. We liked watching the struggling actors sing and perform while bringing us our food. It may be tacky and touristy, but we are all of the above.

On my first visit to NYC (some 11 years ago), we ate at this crazy restaurant that had people dressed as aliens and such. I found the sign and had to take a picture of it. I think it is still open, but the kitsch of the 90s seems to have worn off because there weren’t lines for it when I went past it this time.

It looks like you had a ton of fun in NYC. I used to live there. Lower East Side all the way!
