Here’s to the Class of 2010!

Graduation announcements, front and back, made by yours truly
Filing into the Cistern
It was an early morning for a graduation. I woke up at 7:40 when Rose called me to get up. We downed one mimosa and hopped in the car, listening to some Ludacris on the way. Of course.
Throwing our fake diplomas in the air
There was a lot of waiting around time and I wish I had brought a book to read or something, but I just had to tell myself it would all be worth it soon.
Walking through Porter’s Lodge as graduates of the College, getting our photos snapped by the paparazzi of parents
It was hot as hell on the Cistern and I got very bored of our speakers after a while. The Boeing Charleston rep mentioned “innovation” every five seconds.
Already sweating and graduation hadn’t even begun
When it was finally over, I met my family at the Political Science Reception. My cousin Caitlin ran up to me and said, “Happy Mochiculating!” (she heard someone say matriculating and made the word her own). We had lunch at Bocci’s before I went back to my quiet house to nap.

Cleaning some shrimp from Crosby’s for dinner
I headed back to the beach house just in time for dinner of shrimp, barbecue, fries and more.
Coleslaw, barbecue and “Pa” fries
The boat prior to our painting…Sorry Hannah!
We gathered our materials (paint buckets, rollers, head lamps) and drove out to the boat to paint my name on it!
Dad starts on the letters
In case you’re not a Charleston local, this boat washed up here after Hurricane Hugo and has never been moved. A few years later, someone decided to paint it and the tradition began. Since then, it has displayed congratulations for birthdays, weddings and graduations and even ads for Obama.

The bugs were biting, but that didn’t stop us from crossing this item off my list. Fear of the police was a tiny bit present, but what’s the worst that could happen?
The finished product!
I am so glad to have such a crazy and supportive family to come visit me here countless times over my four years. Check out more of my pictures on Picasa (left) and my mom’s pics.
