TweetI alluded to an upcoming trip to Australia and Asia when I talked about my upcoming year in travel, but now it’s official. I’m going back to Australia. It’s a day I’ve been thinking about ever since I left Sydney on December 1, 2011. And this time, I’m taking my sister Sammi along with me. […]

Tweet There’s one place close to my heart and on my mind on a near daily basis: Australia. It’s somewhere I plan on returning to very, very soon. More on that soon (P.S. if you sign up for my newsletter, you’ll be the first to know the details!). I want to go back to the place […]
Tweet I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: Australia is expensive. Sydney is certainly no exception and is likely more expensive than any other city in the country. While the US dollar is nearly even with the Australian dollar, it will take you much more of those dollars to buy the same items. But […]

Tweet Many travel bloggers have a schedule of their planned trips well in advance. But if you haven’t noticed already, I’m not like normal travel bloggers. So in summary, nothing is set in stone for 2013 as I enjoy flying by the seat of my pants. I only ended up visiting a handful of places […]
Tweet It’s Australia’s version of Las Vegas, the sinful Adult Disneyland. Where the meter maids wear gold bikinis and the bartenders work in their underwear. I’m talking about none other than Surfers Paradise in Queensland. I know I mentioned it before back when I was there but since it was rainy for 90% of my […]
TweetBackpacker bars make the travel scene what it is in Australia: “no worries.” Most major hostels have their own in-house bars but each one is unique, with cheap drinks, activities and rowdy backpackers abound. They’re the only places where you will find a party every night of the week. Sydney ScuBar Located beneath the Sydney […]
Tweet In my almost year in Australia, I slept a lot of places. Dozens of hostels, a few floors, friends’ apartments, two boats, tents, swags and countless cities. It all started in Sydney at Tommy’s house in Petersham, where he and his dad graciously let me sleep until I found my own pad. I got […]
Tweet After a long month and a half of traveling completely by bus, I was more than ready to be in Cairns. I was finally traveling solo and had no clue what I was going to do now that I finally reached my destination. I checked into Cairns Beach House, which turned out to be […]
Tweet Bikie (n): A motorcyclist, with connotations of gang affiliation; A biker. I have a confession to make. I’m terrified of motorcycles. My uncle once offered to give me a ride. I turned it down. My boss here in Sydney offered me a ride after work, since we lived down the street from one another. […]
