Oceans and mountains: the best of both worlds
I know I’ve already said how much I loved Croatia, but this particular night goes down as one of my favorite travel memories. My Australian cruise mates and I had reached the middle of the trip. At the point between being complete strangers and being sick of one another, we had fit into a friendly rhythm as a group. The boat docked in Makarska, where there didn’t seem to be many dining options for grubby backpackers (except for their “fast food” and kebab stands, which I had grown sick of).
Someone suggested we have a picnic, so we all went to the supermarket to see what we could find. We shared what we bought with one another and took seats on the pebble-ridden shore. One girl got out her iPod speakers and another mixed vodka Fantas. We chatted and watched the sun set as if we had known each other for years.
What is your favorite travel memory? It could be a view of something beautiful, a night with unique travel companions or a moment of contentment.
What an absolutely gorgeous photo AND memory!!! I would seriously need to write a book, I have soooo many favorite memories. :)
