Ellsworth Kelly's Austin
Ellsworth Kelly’s Austin

I’ve come to look forward to these monthly posts about what I’m into beyond travel because there’s so much more to my life than where I go, despite the fact that it’s something I love. It’s funny how many people respond with their obsessions or agree with mine!

As with last month, I’m sharing the things I’m obsessed with at the moment. Thanks for following along! Be sure to share what you’re loving this month below!

Reading

I’m still working through The Magnetic Girl. This has definitely been a slow reading year! To see what else I’m reading, check out my Goodreads Profile here (which is also my author page!).

Listening

After a lot of delays, I finally launched the second season of my podcast, also titled This Is My South! The episodes are all under 10 minutes and tell stories about a unique place in the region. In other news, I am fully obsessed with The Highwomen, a supergroup that includes Brandi Carlile. Give them a listen.

Watching

I finished watching the most recent season of Schitt’s Creek and am not embarrassed to say that I fully sobbed through more than one episode. I can’t wait for it to come back in January, even if for the final time. I’ve also gotten back into The Good Place to fill my void for light viewing. I also started season 3 of The Crown, which is as incredible as expected.

Loving

Thinknoo

I started Nanowrimo last month as a way to fuel my creativity on a project that wasn’t “work.” I had an idea and wrote over 25,000 words before falling too far behind. I will definitely pick the project back up, but I found my work commitments to be too much. If I were to do it again, I would spend more time in the plot planning process.

I also got sent some samples of Thinknoo coffee, an instant coffee infused with CBD and other goodies. I found that I was able to focus in a way that doesn’t usually happen with standard caffeine. They’re also vegan and keto-friendly.

Working

I’ve been hard at work finishing stories for the rest of the year for USA Today, Diamond Resorts, Eagle Creek, Explore Georgia, and Fodors while also pitching new stories. It never ends!

I also just launched a Teachable course called Leveraging Your Travel Blog Into a Book. In this class, I share my tips on how to use your existing content and followers to create a sellable product. You can sign up for it here! And if you’re in the Atlanta area, I’m teaching a crash course in travel writing in February.

If you’d like to see more of my work, visit my professional website, CarolineEubanks.com, for more information. If you got a copy of my book, please consider reviewing it on Amazon or Goodreads.

Traveling

Glamping in Georgia
Glamping in Georgia

On the heels of my trip to El Paso, I went back to Texas, this time to Austin, for another conference. It was for the advertising platform I use on my other website and it was incredibly helpful. I also made time to visit the art museum and catch up with friends.

From there, I spent a day at home before leaving for Orlando with my sister. We visited the theme parks, starting with Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I enjoyed getting to go back to Universal to see what was new. I also spent one night glamping in north Georgia.

I celebrated Thanksgiving with my family before leaving for Ohio, a state that is new to me, for a tour of Columbus’ food and beverage scene. Next up is a trip to Amelia Island, Florida and a quick stop in Savannah.
