Ponce and Church in Decatur
I swear. This festival must have been made for me. I wrote a little blurb in the Sunday Paper about the Decatur Book Festival and Mom decided we had to go for the day, since the whole family was in town and not working for Labor Day.
If you didn’t know this about me already, I can tell you that I just can’t say no to books. Even if I have dozens of unread books on my over-packed shelves, I have to buy more. But I was determined not to, even to this gorgeous leatherbound copy of Moby Dick.

Instead, I took notes of what books I wanted in the future for Christmas or to check out of the library. Sometimes I forget about the library.
Sammi writing down the books she’s reading
I liked this wall from the Atlanta Journal Constitution where you write down the book you are currently reading. I wrote “Mansfield Park” for myself and “The Geography of Bliss” for mom.
Unflattering picture of me doing the giant crossword
The AJC had a giant crossword puzzle and I solved one of them: Where are Dorthea Benton Frank’s novels set? South Carolina.

The dragon taking over the city
I loved these novel-themed t-shirts, which included 1984, Atlas Shrugged and many others.
I am a bibliophile. In the end, I made it out with only one book! Chuck Klosterman’s Eating the Dinosaur. Check out the rest of my pictures from the day on my Atlanta, GA album.
