Behind the blog: Alison Garland is a fellow member of the Atlanta Travel Tweetups who has become a good friend in real life. She’s (a little) older and significantly wiser, since she has been to EVERY continent before turning thirty. I think we can all be jealous of that. But don’t worry, she’s still got plenty of places to cross off her must-see list.

What’s in a name?: “I wish I had some clever explanation for how I came up with the name of my blog, but I wanted something that conveyed that my blog was about travel, and I really just liked the alliteration.”-AG

Why should you read?: “I’d like to think that I have good stories to tell and people should read my blog to be entertained. I’m like most people with a 40 hour a week office job, but would rather be traveling. I do what I can to fit as much travel into my life because it’s my passion, and I hope that translates onto my blog. I write from my own personal experiences, and whether it’s a humorous story or an emotional story, I hope my blog shows my readers how rewarding traveling can be.”-AG

Favorite posts: Here are her favorites followed by mine.

  • Christmas in Antarctica because it’s about one of the most amazing trips I’ve ever taken.
  • Ode To My Passport because it’s simple and shows my passion for travel along with some of my favorite pictures.
  • Eating Cuy- The Night My Dinner Waved At Me because of the shock value from the pictures of the guinea pig I ate while in Quito, Ecuador.
  • Pictures because of the amazing pictures of Australia and Hong Kong!
  • $100 Hamburger or My Charlotte Mileage Run because she met up with some of my fave bloggers and because I never thought about taking a short flight to get the frequent flier miles.
  • The Joy of Travel Planning because I myself am a major planner.

What are your favorite blogs to read?: “There are so many blogs I enjoy reading! StretchD and Where is Jenny always make me think and are highly entertaining and inspiring. Grounded Traveler writes a lot of posts about the mental aspects of travel, which I can totally relate to. I also enjoy Breakaway Backpacker because Jaime is so honest and not afraid to just be himself, and it’s inspiring to read about his upcoming round the world trip. Really there are so many others I read on a regular basis, I feel bad only mentioning these four!”-AG

Have a great Christmas everyone and check back for next week’s RTB feature!

Thanks for sharing those links. How cool is it she's been to every continent before 30? I'm envious! Happy holidays!
